The Applegate Valley runs north from the California border through Southern Oregon, along the Applegate River. It boasts, forested hillsides, a fertile valley, fields of lavender, and family-run organic farms with herds of grass-fed cattle. Within this valley is a special 275,000 acre wine appellation known as the Applegate Valley AVA, a group of 19 unique wineries producing a diverse array of wines: high quality and hand-crafted wines that have made this one of the most interesting wine regions in the west.

The nearby town of Jacksonville is a historic gold rush town founded in the 1850’s and is now a National Historic District. Named one of America’s 10 coolest small towns by Buzzfeed.com, Jacksonville is home to the summer-long Britt Music & Arts Festival, a selection of independently owned shops and eateries and accessible hiking opportunities.
